Muju has seen phenomonal growth since opening in 1990 and is now one of Asia's top destination resorts. Muju also boasts the country's longest ski slope and greatest uplift. It hosted the 1997 Universities Winter Games and is located in an area of greathistoric significance and natural beauty. Temperatures fall below
zero between November and April and snow normally falls for up to 120 days. Skiing takes place on two ski areas Mansonbong Peak and the new Solch'onbong Ski range,which opened in 1997. A purpose-buil Colorado-style ski resort about four hours drive south of Seoul which is idea for the expert skier and for families and is rated as one of the best ski resorts in Korea.
